Moringa Oleifera

Moringa oleifera is a fast-growing, drought-resistant tree native to northern India and widely used across South and Southeast Asia. Commonly known as moringa, drumstick tree, horseradish tree, or malunggay, it is cultivated for its nutritional and medicinal benefits.

Moringa oleifera is grown primarily for its young seed pods and leaves, which are used as vegetables and in traditional herbal medicine. It is also valued for its ability to purify water.

Moringa oleifera is a deciduous tree that can reach heights of 10 to 12 meters, with a whitish-gray bark and feathery, tripinnate leaves. Its fragrant, yellowish-white flowers appear within six months of planting and can bloom seasonally or year-round depending on the climate.

The tree produces long, three-sided brown pods containing dark brown seeds with papery wings, which are naturally dispersed by wind and water. To keep the pods and leaves within easy reach, the tree is often pruned annually to a height of 1 to 2 meters.

Moringa is a sustainable, multi-use plant known for its rich nutritional content, traditional uses, and environmental benefits.
