Description

<Strelitzia reginae, commonly known as the crane flower or bird of paradise, is a species of flowering plant.   An evergreen perennial, it is widely cultivated for its dramatic flowers. In temperate areas it is a popular houseplant.>

The popular Birds-of-Paradise plant bears a unique flower that resembles a brightly colored bird in flight, giving it the common name, Bird of Paradise. The Birds-of-Paradise flowers make the plant an exceptionally attractive landscape plant.

Flowering Season: With sufficient light, usually warmer months.

Plant Structure: Large fronds growing from center node.

Size: ~1.5 – 2m high, 1 – 1.5m Wide

Misc Extra: Strong roots, ensure planted in a large pot if not in the ground, roots can damage walls and pots when plant is mature.

Conditions:   low-maintenance, fairly tolerant of soil conditions and needs little water once established, full sun to semi-shade, regular feeding with a controlled release fertiliser and compos
